This wearable pumping system lets moms move about their day without being tied to a large electric pump or plugged in pumping station. With wearable cups and capture bottles and a lanyard suspended pump, the Baby Budhha is an innovative pump ideal for busy moms.

Ease of Use

This pump is easy to use right out of the box. The user interface is fairly intuitive, with limited buttons and features to fiddle with. The pump includes the lanyard, a basic carry bag, 3 tubes, a t-connector, collection bottles, and 24mm silicone flanges.

Efficency

This unit has impressive suction with a maximum of 320 mmHg, which results in very efficient emptying for many women. Our tester pumped about 3 ounces every 8 minutes on average during testing, with results as high as 4 ounces in 6 minutes on one breast. The pump includes 14 settings; 5 for let down and 9 for expression, so there is something for everyone to find the sweet spot of comfort and efficiency.

Portability

This pumping system is light and easy to carry around using the included neck lanyard. With a weight of only one-fourth of a pound, it is comfortable to wear or carry for almost every mother. Thanks to the included battery pack with over an hour of pump time, this unit allows untethered movement while pumping, giving moms a new level of freedom over traditional electric pumps. The rechargeable battery can even be charged with a USB port in about 3 to 4 hours.

Hygiene

The Baby Buddha is a closed system unit that is easy to disassemble and keep clean. These features help ensure that your expressed milk is preserved for later use y your little one.

Dislikes

This minimalist system has a few drawbacks, including an interface that only measures suction time in minutes. While not a dealbreaker, those looking for an exact time might be frustrated with this. However, some pumps don't keep track of anything, making the minute timing seem more acceptable.

Comfort

While the breast flange is soft silicone and feels good against the skin, the overall hard suction during the letdown phase is aggressive, and some testers didn't like the sensation or soreness left behind. This sensation is probably the largest drawback to the Buddha in our minds. However, not all testers experienced this, and it seems to be somewhat user dependant.

Accoustics

Unfortunately, this Baby is not quiet like some of the competition. It generates a loud, rhythmic buzzing that can be heard throughout the room and even over the phone while pumping. It is one of the loudest pumps in our review. The sound is a rhythmic buzzing that many testers found annoying.

Conclusion

The Baby Buddha is an innovative, wearable pup for busy moms on the go. It cuts down on idle time spent pumping or being tied to a pumping location while you wait for your milk to express. The system is lightweight, easy to use, and efficient. There is much to love about the Buddha, but it isn't a perfect unit. This pup is one of the loudest we've tested, and this means it isn't as discrete as you may need or want as it could even be heard over the phone. Also, the letdown suction is fairly aggressive, and some users didn't care for the sensation. However, despite these concerns, we feel it is a winning contender for moms who travel, work away from home, or need to move around while pumping with a hands-free bra (maybe to chase an older sibling around the house).
